Abiastatenews have confirmed the fire incident at INEC office.
The Obingwa Local Government Area Office of the Independent National Electoral Commision(INEC) has been burnt down by yet to be identified persons.
It was learnt that the fire which started sunday afternoon,was hatched by the perpetrators when residents in the area had gone to their various Churches.
Obingwa Local Governmet has the highest voting strength in Abia state with over 182,000 Registered voters,which coincidentally is also the Home Local Government Area of the Current Governor Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu.
Dr.Alex Oti, candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) in the April 11th Governorship Poll had approached the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia to challenge the declaration of Dr.Ikpeazu as the winner of the Poll.
On Friday 31st July 2015,the Tribunal fixed till August 10th for Commencement of Trial.
