The political war drum is obviously heating up in Abia South Senatorial District as Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ikechi Mgbeoji has finally stepped into the ring to contest for Abia South Senatorial Seat.
Prof Mgbeoji has finally declared his interest to run for that seat and it seems he has the backing of state power.
It is generally believed within the political gladiators in Abia South that it is unfair for the governorship position and the senatorial position to be in one local government area.
Prof. Ikechi Mgbeoji is from Aba South, while Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe are both from Obingwa LGA, all in Abia South Senatorial District.
