According to Abia Facts Newspaper, the suspension of Umuahia North Local Government Area Chairman, Hon. Chidiebere Nwachukwu, was due to a petition of financial misappropriation sent to the House of Assembly by an Indigene of Ibeku in Umuahia.
We confirmed this from the Honorable Member Representing Umuahia North State Constituency Honorable Kelechi Onuzuruike.
The honorable member also debunked the insinuation that he is behind the ordeal of the Local Government Chairman.
“How can i be behind this, in a local government where we have the immediate past governor of the state, Senator T.A Orji, PDP State Party Chairman, Johnson Onuigbo, Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Chief Charlie Ogbonna, and so may prominent people. It is unfortunate they are saying this, but it is not true”. he concluded.
He maintained that the Chairman was suspended so as to give room for the committee to investigation the petition before the House and if he is found innocent, he will be reinstated.
