BUSINESS OF THE DAY/ Tendering of Documents

At the resumption of court today, the first issue that aroused was the documents which the petitioner wants to tender as evidence, the 3 respondents raised objections to the said documents and their objections was based on certification of the petitioners document.

The respondents argued that the documents were not certified as expected by INEC, but the petitioners lawyer Prof. Awa Kalu countered their position and stated that the documents were certified as stipulated by the electoral act.

After the arguments, the tribunal judges took time off to go through all the arguments and deliver their ruling.

At the return of the judges, THEY RULED THAT THE SAID DOCUMENT IS VALID AND WELL CERTIFIED . THE DOCUMENT WAS LABELED PB-01.

Immediately after the ruling, the petitioners lawyer tendered another evidence which the respondents also objected to, but the petitioners lawyer drew the attention of the tribunal judges to an agreement between the lawyers to submit objections to documents in their final address.
All the lawyers agreed to the said agreement.

Petitioners lawyers then went ahead to present documents of Ward 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10, all of Ugwunagbo Local Government Area. They were all accepted as evidence .

Based on our earlier update, documents presented and accepted as evidence covers Ugwunagbo LGA (all the wards there), Isiala Ngwa North LGA (all the wards there) and Umuahia North (4 wards)

All the respondents objected to the documents, but as earlier agreed their objection reasons will be stated in their FINAL ADDRESSES.

Note, the reason behind the shitting of objection argument to the final address is because of time. Remember, the tribunal is now time bound.

The matter is now adjourned to tomorrow 18th August
Victory is Assured,Abia will be great Again.
